  • Home Fire Safety Campaign by the Red Cross Club

    Red Cross Join Wakefield High School as we kick off our Home Fire Safety Campaign which will begin with an informational session  given by the Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) on January 26th, 2015 in the cafeteria, during Warriors Period. After the kick-off, a table will be  set up in Town Hall which will be manned during lunches where additional information will be available, and a sign-up sheet for those Wakefield families who wish to have smoke detectors installed by the ACFD.

  •  Sociéte Honoraire de Français

    Eiffel Tower French teachers Katy Wheelock and Susan Haley are proud to announce Wakefield High School’s first chapter of the Sociéte Honoraire de Français (French National Honor Society) sponsored by the American Association Teachers of French. The induction ceremony took place on January 7, 2015 in Wakefield’s Town Hall. Céline Jobé, the Educational Affairs Program Officer at the French Embassy in Washington D.C., gave a short talk in French about the language’s importance and influence on the world. In addition to the students’ families, APS Supervisor of World Languages, Elisabeth Harrington, and WHS principal, Dr. Chris Willmore were in attendance. Please congratulate these students when you see them for their commitment and excellence in French.

  • Pathway Connection Deadline is 1/31/15

    Are you currently in the 10th grade and thinking about going to college after high school? Not really sure if you are ready for college? Want to learn more about colleges, careers and how to pay for college? If you answered yes to any of these questions the Pathway Connection Program is for you. Click here for an application.   • Governor's Academy Finalists

    World Languages Wakefield High School could not be more proud to announce several students who have been selected as finalists to participate in the Governor's Academy this summer.  For instance, the World Language Department at Wakefield High School is pleased to announce five students who have been selected to compete for admission to the Governor’s Academy in the summer of 2015.  Congratulations to Robert Aselford (German), Abigial Brown (German), Sierra Cass (Spanish), Areli Ibarra Ruiz (French), and Jake Karton (French). brushes and paint Moreover, Wakefield's Performance Arts will be represented in the Governor’s School VPA state auditions. Congratulations to Ishan Chatterjee (Instrumental Music), Tyler LaPointe (Instrumental Music), Abby Brown (Vocal Music), Sean Romiti-Schulze (Vocal Music), Red Taye (Visual Arts)
