Asian Summit 2013!
The 2014 Summer Residential Governor’s Schools provide gifted high school sophomores and juniors with intensive educational experiences in agriculture; visual and performing arts; humanities; mathematics, science, and technology; medicine and health; or through mentorships in marine science or engineering. Students live on a college campus for four weeks each summer. Students are involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects and performances, and seminars with noted scholars, visiting artists, and other professionals.
All Summer Virginia Governor’s School 2014 applications for current 10th and 11th graders are now available online. Student applicants need to see Mrs. Maitland in room B-116 to acquire additional information and advisement.
The deadlines for the written application are: Visual and Performing Arts Gov. School: Monday, Oct. 21, pages 1-4 only. Academic Gov. School: Monday, Dec. 9, entire application packet.
Gifted Education at William & Mary
The Center for Gifted Education at The College of William and Mary is offering its Focusing on the Future career conference,February 1, 2014, for high-achieving middle and high school students as well as separate informational sessions for parents about planning for their child’s collegiate experience.
