APS to Broadcast and Stream High School Graduation Ceremonies

This year, Arlington Public Schools will broadcast all three comprehensive high school graduations live on AETV, Comcast Cable Channel 70 and Verizon FiOS Channel 41. The graduation ceremonies will also be streamed online for those who cannot attend and for family members and friends who live outside of Arlington County. (More

APS Snapshots Snapshots Highlights Wakefield Senior Projects

In this week's episode of Snapshots, Superintendent Dr. Pat Murphy discusses senior projects with coordinator Lisa Labella and Wakefield High School seniors. Senior Project offers each senior an opportunity for personal growth that is self-determined, easily observable, and ultimately empowering. (More)  
 

Green Scene Jefferson’s Community Garden Featured on Green Scene  

This week’s episode of Green Scene features the Jefferson Middle School Community Garden. The garden was started three years ago by a Girl Scout troop. Teachers have used the garden to create a unique learning experience for students. Parents, staff and students have been able to provide their input to help create the master plan for the garden. The school donates the produce to Arlington Food Assistance Center. (More)

From mid-May through the first week of June, APS students focus on taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. But what happens after SOLs are completed? Through June 21, APS will highlight some of the many school and classroom activities that ensure learning continues through the end of the school year.
