: Gates of Ballston Community Center, 4108 4th St., North.
Arlington Community Outreach Program in partnership with Empowered Woman International, Arlington Police, Public Health, Arlington Public Schools and Parks and Recreation host an event dedicated to women to appreciate their contributions to the development of a healthy community. Topics include: Healthy Relationships, Self-defense, self-care wellness, stress Relief through arts & crafts. Call 703-351-0019 for more information.

Boardmaker Basics

Presented by APS Department of Student Services and the Special Education office. Christie Bowers, M.S., CCC-SLP and Lauren Bonnet, M.A., CCC-SLP, will introduce a computer program called "Boardmaker," which is used to develop picture symbols used to improve communication skills, create visual schedules to use at home, organize activities, increase literacy and encourage positive behavior. Don't miss this hands-on, interactive workshop. Registration is required, and space is limited. Register online

Tired of the Tantrums?
Tue, May 15: 7-8:30 p.m.
Location
: Human Services Center at Sequoia, 2100 Washington Blvd., Lower Level.
In this workshop, parents will gain an understanding of why toddlers have tantrums and explore strategies to avoid them. Childcare available upon request.
