School & Community Relations

Our annual Summer Activities Fair was held this Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Jefferson Community Center. The two-hour event was very well attended, with approximately 2,000 attending to explore summer options for their children, ages 3-18.

The event is sponsored jointly by the Department of School and Community Relations and CCPTA, and the money raised from the exhibitor fees is used to fund scholarships for APS seniors who will be pursuing careers in education or youth services after graduation in June.

The fair featured 95 summer program exhibitors, including APS Summer School, the Arlington Aquatics Centers, Arlington Career Center Enrichment, the Special Education Parent Resource Center and Arlington County Parks and Recreation.
