Special Education

Welcome to Jamestown's Special Education Page

Special Education Services

Jamestown's Special Education Team is responsible for ensuring the provision of a wide range of support services to  students identified as requiring an IEP through the Special Education Eligibility process.

The Office of Special Education provides support for students with disabilities, parents, principals, and school staff in the evaluation, identification, placement, instruction, and transitional services.

The Office of Pupil Services encompasses the services of school psychologists, school social workers/visiting teachers and counselors. Student records, transcripts, student residency, requests for psychological transfers and the Home Instruction program are also the responsibility of this office.

The Parent Resource Center's purpose is to provide parents the support and information they need as they work with the school system to identify and meet their child's unique learning needs. The PRC offers support and assistance, a lending library, a parent newsletter, parent training workshops, and serves as an information and referral source for families and staff members.
