Spanish

Meet the FLES team at Jamestown

Rosa Zamora (Kindergarten, first and Multi-age Grades )

Mrs. Zamora was born and raised in El Salvador and she is a native speaker of Spanish. This will be her 24th year of teaching and her eleventh devoted to teaching Spanish in the US. She is endorsed in EFL and Bilingual Special Ed and she has taught English and Spanish in immersion and dual language settings. Mrs. Zamora is looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the coming year, which surely promises to bring with it many new experiences and challenges.

Isabel M. Pérez (First and Fourth Grade)

Mrs. Pérez was born in Quito, Ecuador and spent much of her childhood living in both Ecuador and the United States. She is proud of her bilingual and bicultural heritage and believes that her unique background will be an asset to the FLES program and her new students. Mrs. Pérez has worked in both transitional bilingual education and Spanish immersion. She believes that learning a second language is an exciting experience that all children should have the opportunity to pursue. She is excited for the upcoming year and looks forward to being a member of the Jamestown community!

Claudia Carvallo (Second and Third Grade)

Mrs. Carvallo is originally from Venezuela and came to the United States in 1995 to study English and found her life in this country. She has been in Jamestown as a FLES teacher for 4 years since the program started. This school year Mrs. Carvallo will be teaching 2nd and 3rd grades and she is looking forward to meeting her students and having a wonderful year!

Laura Tokarczyk (Montessori, Fourth and Fifth Grade)

This is Mrs. Tokarczyk's fourth year teaching FLES Spanish at Jamestown and her first full school year as a National Board Certified teacher. The fifth-grade classes are particularly special this year for her because they were her first group of students at Jamestown back in second grade, and she looks forward to seeing their progress in Jamestown's FLES program!
