I was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My earliest memories while still in elementary school were those of becoming a teacher. I used to tutor the children in the neighborhood for free and when I had free time, I played school for hours with imaginary students. I attended Slippery Rock State College and majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Art and Early Childhood Education. After completing my undergraduate studies, I began teaching first grade and started working toward my masters. I have done my graduate work at Penn State, the University of Virginia, and George Mason University. At the end of this school year, I will have completed 38 years of teaching in Pre-school, Kindergarten, first, third and fifth grades. I also directed a preschool/day care for 3 years when my children were very young.
In my leisure time, I love to travel, read and do crafts. Jewelry making has become my latest hobby. My greatest passion and pleasure is coming to work every day and being with my students. The students, the staff, and administration are so wonderful to work with. Patrick Henry is the best!
