The instructional approach of the Drew art program is based on the art disciplines of Art communication and production, Art history, Art criticism, and Aesthetics. The goals of the program are to encourage students' ability to communicate with many visual images and to promote critical and creative thinking skills. In addition, the arts program at Drew integrates visual arts into the Virginia Standards of Learning and encourages teaching through the arts.
