All About Jamestown

Welcome to Jamestown

At Jamestown, our mission is to educate all children in an optimal learning environment preparing them for success now and in the future.  The staff implements a rich and rigorous academic curriculum. Project Quest, our exemplary project, is a school-wide process to ensure continuous school improvement in teaching and learning.  Teachers implement the Responsive Classroom Approach to address students’ social and emotional needs as they provide a demanding academic program differentiating instruction by addressing students’ multiple intelligences and integrating technology. Every classroom begins the day with a Responsive Classroom Morning Meeting. Grade level and vertical teams analyze student work and compile data that drives instructional programming.

Spanish is a core curriculum. With an emphasis on collaboration and critical thinking, it enhances and supports the high percentage of our learners who achieve in the advanced range on the SOL state tests.  Our Leadership Team plans professional development focused on annual goals and the integration of technology and Responsive Classroom strategies.

In collaboration with the parents, the Jamestown staff is committed to excellence, high expectations, and the successful academic, social, and emotional development of students. We strive to empower students to be responsible for their own learning.
