Welcome Washington-Lee Community!

Here at W-L we set high expectations for both staff and students. Once again, we have been ranked one of the top high schools in the nation. We are, indeed, proud of this high honor.  But, at the same time, we don't intend to rest on our laurels. We will continue to look for new ways to engage students and staff in this most important business of educating the students in the Washington-Lee community. For example, experienced teachers have the option again this year to sign-up for or continue with the NETwork initiative as part of their Professional Development Plan. In agreeing to take part in this program, teachers have an opportunity to work one-on-one with a student he or she selects who is in need of academic monitoring or assistance.
 
At the same time, we are continuing to provide the same support services as in the past; such as teacher-directed after-school study sessions, Zero Period at 7:30 each morning in each of the core subject areas, and academic lunch labs to help students prepare for the SOL's in the spring. Please encourage your child to take part in these opportunities.
 
I'm honored and proud to be the principal and leader of what I believe to be the most talented and dedicated group of educational professionals and support staff in the business.
