Math Lab

MATH LAB

Carrie Wolfe, Math Lab Teacher

Abingdon's Math Lab serves Kindergarten through 2nd grade students.  In Math Lab students explore concepts in multisensory ways, both real and virtual.  Counting, number sense, and computational fluency are emphasized every day with every grade level in a variety of ways.  Kindergarten and 1st grade students focus on counting, addition, and subtraction.  Second grade classes continue working with addition and subtraction and are introduced to multiplication.  The Math Lab is located in the computer lab because technology integration is also an important focus.  All students have the opportunity to interact with some excellent web based activities that build enthusiasm and help deepen students' mathematical understandings.
