Teaching with Primary Sources

Northern Virginia Partnership

Teaching with Primary Sources

Teachers at ComputerGunston Middle School  participated in the Northern Virginia Partnership program since its inception in
2004 (formerly called An Adventure of the American Mind - AAMNVA) through 2009. Many of our staff members attended AAMNVA training through their department in-services, through the Primary Source Learning Professional Development WorkshopTeachers at Computers Series at Gunston or summer LibraryQuest institutes. Many teachers have had the opportunity to tour the Library of Congress and have created lesson plans incorporating primary sources materials. As a result, manyn pairs Gunston teachers have earned a video projector and speaker for classroom use.  In addition, the library media center and individual teachers have received laminated large scale reproductions and professional books from the program.
