The restrooms of Washington-Lee contain many different pieces of water saving technology.
The sink faucets contain ultra-low-flow sink aerators, which spray water at .5 gallons per minute (GPM). These faucets save 77% more water annually than typical 2.2 GPM, approximately 18,615 gallons.

The toilets in each restroom feature dual-flush valve handles that use 1.6 gallons of water when pushed downwards to remove solid waste and 1.1 gallons of water when tilted upwards to remove liquid waste. In addition, the urinals in the men’s restroom are waterfree, further reducing the use of water.

All of these features in the restrooms contribute to a 45% reduction in water-use.
