Parent Teacher Association

Money Matters: Fundraising

Barrett PTA fundraising activities provide resources to our teachers and staff and directly benefit our children.  We help fund technology by helping to purchase Smartboards and iPads used in every classroom throughout the school.  We support education by providing teachers with funds for books and classroom materials to benefit our children.  The PTA funds field trips, children’s author visits, visits by guest educators and special events to enrich our children’s passion for learning and reading.

Get involved!  Volunteer!  Support our school!

There are many opportunities to support the many important fundraising programs. Please consider donating your time, skills and experience.

The Fall Book Fair is one of the best ways to support your school's reading efforts and also raise funds. Vendors bring in their offerings for elementary school children. It's a great way to find books that are age appropriate for your child. Shop for your children, shop for gifts, or you could shop for a donation to your child's classroom or the school library.  View the Camp Read-A-Lot flyer for more information.

The 2012 Camp Barrett Read-A-Lot: Stories Around the Campfire - 4th Annual Pajama Story Hour was Tuesday, Oct 2nd and Wednesday, Oct 3rd, 2012. View the Camp Read-A-Lot: Stories Around the Campfire flyer.

Box Tops for Education

General Mills prints special bright pink Box Tops on a wide array of the food and household products they produce, from granola bars to diapers, school supplies to detergent. Each of these Box Tops is worth 10 cents to participating schools. Box Tops for Education has helped America's schools earn over $175 million in just over 10 years. At Barrett families and classrooms collect Box Tops throughout the year and turn them in each Fall and Spring.

Thanks to the combined efforts of Barrett students and families, Barrett earned over $1300 from our Box Tops For Education collection efforts in the 2011-2012 school-year.  The money that Barrett earns through the Box Tops program directly benefits our students in their classroom.

Keep clipping those valuable little pink Box Tops and be sure to check out Box Top's collection sheets for a new tool to make collecting Box Tops fun and easy.  Remember, every Box Top counts!
