Kindergarten

Elizabeth Rente
Ms. Rente My name is Elizabeth Rente. I started teaching kindergarten at Barrett in 2006. I was born and raised in Arlington and I myself am a product of Arlington Public Schools. I received my degree in Elementary Education from Radford University and am currently working towards my Master's in reading education so that I can become a certified reading specialist. Nichole Lewis
Nichi Hi, my name is Nichi (Nikki) Lewis. This is my first year at Barrett and I am so excited!  I was born in California, but am part of a military family so I've been all over. I received my undergrad in theater and music from George Mason University.  I also received my Masters from George Mason University in Elementary Education Curriculum and Instruction.  I am ready for a great year!



 
 
 
">My name is Wendy Ratcliffe and I began teaching kindergarten at Barrett in 2005 and began teaching in 1993. I have taught preschool (VPI and Special Education), Reading Recovery, and kindergarten. My undergrad degree is in Early Childhood Education and Development from the University of Delaware and I received my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from GWU. I have two sons-- my older son attends Swanson (and is a Barrett alumnae) and my younger son attends Barrett.

Cristina Torres

My name is Cristina Torres. My undergraduate studies were done at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. I received my Master's degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. I started teaching in 1990 and I have been teaching at Barrett since 1998. I am certified to teach Elementary Education (K-6), Bilingual Education (K-6), English as a Second Language (K-12) and Spanish as a Second Language (K-12). I have one son who is very proud to attend Barrett.
 

Mi nombre es Cristina Torres. Soy Licenciada en Idiomas de la Universidad de Houston, Texas. Hice mis estudios de Maestría en Educación en la Universidad de Arizona, en Tucson, Arizona. Empezé a enseñar en 1990 en los estados de Arizona y California. He enseñado en Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau y Paraguay, como voluntaria del Cuerpo de Paz de los Estados Unidos. También he enseñado en México. He estado trabajando como maestra en la Escuela Barrett desde 1998. Soy maestra certificada por el Departamento de Educación del Estado de Virginia, para enseñar Educación Primaria (K-6), Educación Bilingue (K-6), Inglés como Segundo Idioma (K-12) y Español como Segundo Idioma (K-12). Estoy muy orgullosa de tener un hijo estudiando en la Escuela Barrett, donde yo enseño.
