Each year, the PTA Reflections Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. This year’s theme is “The Magic of the Moment” The program has six arts areas—dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts — and two grade divisions for elementary school students — primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) and a new Special Artist division. We hope that you will encourage your child to participate in Reflections. Students may submit multiple entries in one or more categories.
Entries submitted by students are judged by individuals from the community, and entries that receive top honors (1 per category for each grade division) are sent to Arlington County for judging at the county level. We will contact those students who receive top honors of Outstanding Interpretation for their categories sometime in November.
In December we will have our Reflections awards assembly, which we will invite parents to attend. We will display the entries of students who receive honors of Award of Excellence, Award of Merit, and Honorable Mention on the front school entry bulletin boards prior to the award assembly. At that time we will return all other entries to students. Each student will receive a ribbon celebrating their participation in Reflections. You can help us make the program a continued success by doing the following:
