I Can’t Believe You Went Through My Stuff!: Looking at the soft signs of Substance Use and Abuse

This training is a hands-on experience which allows parents to contemplate the signs and symptoms of problematic behavior, as they enter the difficult developmental stage of adolescence.  As Dr. Sheras points out in is book, “I Can’t Believe You Went Through My Stuff,” parents are constantly challenged in balancing their child’s need for independence and identity with their need to be the guider and limit maker. This training will provide an opportunity to look at the soft signs one may see in their child’s bedroom, as well as the emotional signs and symptoms that may begin to creep up when a child begins to use or is using substances.  This training is recommended for the parents of late middle schoolers and high schoolers.
